Contemporary Literature in Russian: “Here” and “There”. Lecture. Speaker MARK LIPOVETSKY

Once again, Russian literature has been divided into two parts – “here” and “there”, under censorship and beyond, in Russia and abroad. What works written in Russian “here” and “there” since 2022 are worth reading? Who are the writers whose talents resonate with the time of catastrophe? Is there a global Russian literature beyond state borders? Is there a new underground?
These and other questions will be addressed by literary scholar Mark Lipovetsky, professor of Department of Slavic Languages at Columbia University, in his lecture.
